What is the BMP Treatment Process?
BMP is typically derived from your own bone or a certified bone bank. During your consultation, our oral surgeons will determine the best source for your needs. We use Cone Beam imaging to assess your condition and develop an ideal treatment approach, including precise BMP placement to enhance bone regeneration for dental implants.
Once your personalized treatment plan is ready, we’ll schedule your procedure. On the day of surgery, the area will be numbed, and sedation options are available for added comfort. The BMP solution is applied via a specialized sponge, with mesh material placed for protection, and the gums are sutured to promote healing and create a strong foundation for future restorations.
BMP Treatment Aftercare and Recovery
BMP therapy is often combined with bone grafting or other oral surgeries that require sufficient bone mass for long-term oral health. Swelling and discomfort are normal after surgery and should lessen as you heal. Our office will provide post-operative instructions to support your recovery, and over-the-counter medication and cold compresses can help relieve mild discomfort. Healing typically takes around six months, during which we’ll schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and determine the best time for your dental implant surgery.
